A boy sighed as he drowsily awoke from his slumber and got ready for the day. It was going to be a normal day for him, at least that's what he thought. After getting up and eating Lucas would go to the Professor and check on how he was doing, just like any normal day.

Fixing his beret and making sure his Pokeballs were concealed safely in his bag, Lucas checked the time to see that he was running later than usual and decided against breakfast. Slamming the door behind him, he tried to make a mad dash for Route 1 when he was stopped by a sarcastic and snarky voice.

"Late, are we, Lucas?" an auburn haired female stated. Lucas turned and looked at the girl, in denim jeans and a red winter coat with boots, which the outfit made sense since it was the middle of Winter. Lucas sighed.

"Yes I am, Mars and if you would kindly move out of my way I will be on my way."

Ever since the Sinnoh incident with Team Galactic Mars has been living in Twinleaf Town with Lucas, Hikari, and Jun as a roommate to Hikari. It took some convincing, but the league saw that Mars could finally make amends with what she did and agreed as long as she was with one of them at all times she would not end up in jail or worse, dead. Hikari was the one to take her in since she was Champion after all. In time after the whole ordeal Mars and Lucas confessed and are now girlfriend and boyfriend.

"Nope, not moving at all," taunted Mars, with a small smirk tugging at her lips. Lucas rolled his eyes, obviously Mars had come to fit in very well in Twinleaf.

"I thought you were supposed to be with Hikari today?" mentioned Lucas, cocking an eyebrow.

"Champion duties, something about Flint trying to cook," Mars said nonchalantly. She waved a hand in the air for emphasis.

"Jun?" he offered, hoping that he could go now.

"On a trip to Sunnyshore, remember?" she pointed out, "And since I have to stay with one of you, guess who I'm staying with today," she finished sending a glare in his direction.

Lucas cursed his luck and his stomach not only had to rat him out also, grumbling and made Mars chuckle a little.

"I think we may want to get breakfast, or brunch by the looks of it," she indicated. Lucas checked it was indeed a quarter past ten. He knew that the Professor would kill him if he didn't get there soon, but Mars was there and maybe...

"Alright, I know this great place Jubilife." Mars nodded in agreement while Lucas released his Staraptor and climbed on. Offering a hand to Mars she shooshed it off and got on by herself.

"You might want to hold on," Lucas told her with a small smirk.

"Hold on to what, you?" she joked and then realized that he was the only thing that she hold onto. She blushed slightly as she wrapped her hands around his waist. "Better?" she asked.

"Much." It was silent for a moment, but then Mars lightly kicked Staraptor to get going, the Pokemon taking off into the air at an alarming rate. "W-Why did you do that?!" Lucas hollered.

"Cause' you wouldn't get going!" she growled back in frustration and he shook his head bitterly.

"Just warning you, but your paying!" Lucas warned. Mars could only laugh the whole way there as an answer.

There was a long pause between a pair of young teens in a booth off to the corner of a small cafe. "So how's your pancakes?" the boy spoke up.

"Not the best I could have, but hey, it's food," the girl responded, eating her food slowly. "And yours Lucas?"

"I actually like my eggs scrambled, unlike somebody I know," he challenged Mars.

She scoffed at his statement, "So, what if I like my eggs sunny side up? At least I don't like mint," she spat back. Lucas out his hand over his heart, faking that he was hurt.

"Why, Mars. That was such a low blow, do you know how many things come in mint flavor? Ice cream, jellybeans, gum and so much more!" Lucas responded, sarcasm dripping in different spots.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's just get going," Mars quickly changed the subject as the waitress set the check down.

"Have a nice day!" she said cheerfully and Mars just sent her a glare. The waitress went running off to the back of the cafe, not looking back once. Lucas eyes Mars as she checked her pockets for her wallet.

"Why did you do that?" he asked, fiercely staring at her as if a challenge.

"Cause' I could, plus I hate those who act happy all the time," she answered, finally finding a blue Piplup shaped wallet. Lucas was now highly suspicious of why Mars of all people have a wallet like that.

"That's not your wallet is it?"

"Let's just say Hikari's paying today." Lucas could only chuckle in response.
